About Kinder Kids

“Kinder Kids with Manners and More” provides today’s parents with an avenue for, and assistance in, raising kindergarten and elementary aged children with an increased level of gracious behavior through thoughtfulness, mannerliness, courtesy, and kindness.
There is nothing “common” about courtesy.  Knowing the rules of manners and gracious behavior, give children the confidence and poise they need as they grow.  Just teaching these rules is not enough.  They must be practiced to become a wonderful and positive habit, so parents are an integral part of the curriculum and success of the program.

Manners will serve children well in life’s journey, leading to success in academics, extra-curricular activities, social relationships, and their careers.  The ultimate goal is a kinder, more considerate, society one child at a time; for the benefit of us all.

Small class-sized settings of eight (8) sessions will cover:

  • Meeting and Greeting Manners
  • Saying Kind Words
  • Giving and Receiving Compliments
  • Doing Kind Deeds
  • Being a Gracious Host or Hostess
  • Visiting Manners
  • Being a Gracious and Grateful Guest
  • Expressing Appreciation in Person and in Writing
  • Mealtime Manners, and Formal and Informal Dining

A contract between parent and child, will cement the parent’s responsibility in reinforcing and furthering lesson topics at home, long after completion of the class.

Dedication

The Kinder Kids Program is dedicated to Gordon and Lydia Anderson, Mrs. MacInnes’ parents and Mrs. Heal’s grandparents.  Mr. Anderson created the Adventures of JoJo, the Sociable Squirrel and Ickybickyboo, the Mannerly Monkey, when Mrs. MacInnes was a child.  Mrs. Anderson invented The Compliment Club, to help Mrs. MacInnes with her shyness.  The Compliment Club has grown into the KWAD Club (Kind Words and Deeds Club).  It is with great pleasure that we honor these two wonderful people for the dedication, support, imagination and love that began growing the Kind Word and Deed Garden over 55 years ago.
